Course is Fee Free

The Center runs solely on a donation basis and no charge or fees is payable by students. Students are provided free accommodation and food. All expenses are met by donations only from those who have already completed courses, experienced the benefits of Vipassana and wish to give others the same opportunity. Neither the teacher nor the assistant teachers receive remuneration; they and others who serve on the courses volunteer their time and efforts.

What to Bring

The items that have been listed below cover all seasons. Please bring items appropriate for the season. Rain-gear is always advisable.

BEDDING
One pillow with mattress per bed is available.
It is advised to bring your own bedsheet, blanket and pillow cover.

CLOTHING

Bring enough clothing for the duration of your stay. All students should observe the rules for modest dress as outlined in the Code of Discipline. Shorts, tank tops, transparent, tight or revealing clothing, etc. are not permitted. Tights or leggings should be worn only under a knee length top or skirt/dress. T shirts with provocative messages are not allowed.

Warm clothing - sweater, pullover, shawl (Winter season - November to February)

TOILETRIES
Please bring daily requirements like:
Towel
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Bathing soap
Shampoo
Shaving/Sanitary supplies
Hair Oil
Detergent Powder

OTHER USEFUL ITEMS
Small travel alarm clock
Torch (with extra batteries)
Drinking water bottle
Thermos flask for hot water
Umbrella during rain months (June - September) and desirable in summer (Mid March - Mid May)
Mosquitoe Repellant

MEDICINES
Please carry stock of medicines regularly used for the entire duration of the course along with the doctor''s prescription.
